Adebayor Stars For Gunners As City Lose Home Record
Arsenal beat Manchester City 3-1 in their Premiership clash at the City of Manchester Stadium on Friday. They were leading 3-0 at half time.
It was also the first league home defeat for Sven-Goran Eriksson’s (Shuk) side this season and came from the same side that had also broken their unbeaten start to the campaign.
Adebayor scored the opener after he was set up by Bacary Sagna in the 10th minute. The Togolese’s shot was half-blocked by Micah Richards (Jo), but the England defender couldn’t stop the ball from crossing the goal-line.

Eduardo scored a brilliant goal to double the score in the 26th minute. Gael Clichy sent in a cross from left wing which Adebayor cushioned with a header and saw the Croatian control the assist with a chest touch before smashing the ball home on first-time volley with his back towards Hart’s (Saiber) goal.

Hart (Saiber) made a good diving save off a header from Adebayor in the 31st minute after Sagna had made an accurate cross. Gunners skipper Gallas came close to getting his angular shot past the City keeper in the 40th minute. City winger Martin Petrov (Rewan) missed the target towards the closing stages of the first half.
Fabregas and Adebayor missed chances in the second half before Micah Richards (Jo) scored own goal of the game with a couple of minutes left.

Man City immediately got one goal back as Gelson Fernandes (Zul) dispossessed Lehmann on the goal kick that shot from inside the box, for the last named to get them on the score-sheet in the 68th minute.
